Welcome New Residents and Fellow

We would like to welcome our new residents; Drs. Hannah Badon, Colleen Drapcho, Ruth McTighe, and Laura Rezac; as well as our new Mohs fellow Dr. Caroline Doo. We have been excited to work with these excellent candidates with superb credentials thus far and believe they will contribute much to the residency program and the future of dermatology practice.

 

Badon

Hannah Badon, MD

Hannah was born and raised in Mount Olive, MS. She attended The University of Southern Mississippi, where she graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry. She remained in Mississippi to attend medical school and complete her internship here at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. In her free time, Dr. Badon enjoys traveling, Pure Barre, vegetable gardening, and spending time with pets.

Drapcho

Colleen Drapcho Powers, MD

Colleen was born and raised in Mandeville, Louisiana. She attended Baylor University where she graduated with honors and magna cum laude, earning a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. She returned to Louisiana to attend medical school at the Louisiana State University – New Orleans and completed her internship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. In her personal time, Dr. Powers enjoys playing with her dog, cooking, exercising and outdoor activities, and watching LSU football.

 

McTighe

Ruth McTighe, MD

Ruth was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina. She attended Clemson University, where she graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences. She remained in South Carolina to attend medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina before completing her internship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. In her free time, Dr. McTighe enjoys traveling, visiting family, watching Clemson football, and playing sports.

Rezac

Laura Rezac, MD

Laura was born and raised in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She attended The University of South Dakota, where she graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Medical Biology. She attended medical school at the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine before completing her internship at the University of South Dakota. In her personal time, Dr. Rezac enjoys staying active, hiking, lake activities, and attending concerts.

Doo

Caroline Doo, MD (Fellow)

 

Caroline has returned as our Mohs fellow but we will review her background for those who have not known her as a resident.  She was born and raised in Fresno, CA. She completed a prestigious accelerated medical program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where she graduated magna cum laude and was inducted as a junior member to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed her internship and residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and is now continuing her time in Mississippi as a Mohs Surgery Fellow. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, trying new foods, photography, traveling, and exploring the great outdoors (with adequate sun protection of course).
